Posted 7/9/19

Dear Parent or Guardian,

For the 2019-2020 school year, Christopher Columbus Middle School will be a Verizon Innovative Learning School. This is an initiative that puts technology in the hands of our students, helping us toward our vision of an innovative and exciting learning environment for every student.

Christopher Columbus Middle School is a diverse school that strives to effectively educate all students in a safe environment so that each student will contribute to and benefit from our local and global community. Verizon Innovative Learning provides free technology, free internet access, and hands-on learning experiences to help give all of our students the education they deserve. Through our collaboration with Verizon and Digital Promise, a national education technology non-profit, we are able to equip every student and teacher at our school with a tablet and a two-year data plan. In addition to free technology and access, Verizon Innovative Learning Schools receive teacher training, support, and the opportunity to engage in unique curricula that leverages technology in their classrooms.

I hope you share our excitement about sending devices home and helping extend your child’s learning opportunities beyond the school day. If you have questions or need further information about the program, please call our school office at (818) 702-1200

Sincerely,
